As well, Hollywoods uses the same grade and quality of lumber for its drawer boxes, base plates, aprons and other visible and non-visible table parts, as it does for its tabletops. Some manufacturers will cut cost and time by using scrap or lesser grade lumber in these areas, which de-values the piece. At Hollywoods, they build heirloom-quality furniture by doing things that add beauty to the piece today and add value to the piece as it ages.

Hollywoods has recently started using Rockfish Oak, which is glacially grown, to build its tables. This premium oak is superior to wood used by other manufacturers; it is tighter grained for less splitting and weather-checking. It is colour-sorted and the most dense and stable oak on the market.
