Hollywoods Fine Furniture, located in St. Albert, is one of only a few solid wood furniture manufacturers in Alberta. This small, but proud, operation specializes in dining, kitchen and occasional tables and strives to be the best in what they do. As such, Hollywoods is continuously searching for quality wood from Canadian lumber mills, learning about the latest hardware and adhesives, and gaining knowledge on new design techniques.

Hollywoods believes woodworking is an art that takes patience, knowledge and an eye for detail. They strive to bring new ideas to their furniture design and never cut corners when it comes to the quality, strength and integrity of each piece. As a dedicated two-person operation, they do not buy lumber in bulk. Rather, they hand select every board to ensure they match colour and grain for each piece of furniture. While other manufacturers may perceive this to be a waste of time, Hollywoods makes certain that it is an essential part of their process.

Further, Hollywoods uses the same grade and quality of lumber for their drawer boxes, base plates, aprons, and other visible and non-visible table parts as they do for their tabletops. Some manufacturers will cut cost and time by using scrap or lesser grade lumber in these areas, which only de-values the piece to you. At Hollywoods, they build heirloom quality furniture by doing things that adds beauty to the piece today and adds value to the piece as it ages.

Hollywoods has recently started using Rockfish Oak, which is glacially grown, to build its tables. This premium oak is superior to wood used by other manufacturers; it is tighter grained for less splitting and weather checking. It is colour sorted and the most dense and stable oak on the market.
